According to the American Psychological Association, New Yorkers experience more stress due to the economy.
Out of 212 residents, 64% who responded said they were dissatisfied with their jobs. This is 10% higher than the rest of the country.
New Yorkers utilize different coping methods. Urban dwellers outrank rural residents 62% to 48% in using exercise to relieve stress. Unhealthy eating and worry were tied at 44% as other popular coping methods.
For me, prayer is one of my favorite stress relievers. Prayer is a conversation with God, which encourages self-realization and self-improvement. Laughter doesn’t either.
Learning to be happy with what you have and not distressing about what you lack, makes life easier to deal with. Just remember, at this present time you have everything you need, and what you don’t have, you don’t need.
