“2 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, 3 for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. 4 And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” (James 1:2-4)

White Winter- January 2011 Sets Record NY Snow Totals

January marks the snowiest month in NYC.  Central Park in NYC received 19 inches of snow, the most of all NY counties.  This month, Central Park broke its 1925 record of 27.7 inches, with 36 inches of snowfall.

As a result of the storm, all NYC schools were closed Thursday and Regents exams were postponed until June.  Also, all non-emergency government offices were closed, flights cancelled and many forms of transit were either suspended or operated on reduced service.  Many residents of NYC, Brooklyn, Long Island, Orange and Rockland counties suffered power outages after the storm.

The safest thing to do was to stay home until the salt spreaders and snowplows cleared your street.

Reparations for the Unborn

This devotion to Mary and the Holy Family was created in response to the 38th anniversary of the Supreme Court’s pro-choice decision in Roe Vs. Wade.  The American Flag inspired the colors of the banquet of flowers.

Since the decision, over 52 million abortions have been performed.  Please pray for the repose of these souls, their fathers, and the mothers who made this difficult decision.

Let It Snow

We didn’t have a White Christmas, but Mother Nature made up for lost time, blanketing most of NY with a blizzard, which ranked 6th place on the National Weather Service’s top ten lists of storms.

Many parts of NY are still buried under snow making mobility nearly impossible and public transportation yet to resume “regular” service.

Here are the Snowfall totals (in inches) for NY:

Divine Works of Shepherds and Angels

During this Christmas season, don’t forget to dedicate a prayer and mediate on the divine works of the Shepherds and Angels.

Luke 2:8-12

And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with fear. 10 And the angel said to them, “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. 12 And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.”

Star of Bethlehem

Numbers 24:17

“I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near: a star shall come out of Jacob, and a scepter shall rise out of Israel; it shall crush the forehead of Moab and break down all the sons of Sheth.”

Hark! The Herald Angels Sing

Luke 2:13-14
And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, (14) “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!” “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!”

The Power of Love

Christmas marks the day God gave humanity a Savior, who would act as the intermediary between God and Humanity.  Jesus made reparations for our sins through his crucifixion, in order for us to gain eternal salvation.  No longer could ignorance be used to disregards God’s laws.  What gift of gratitude will you offer the Jesus Christ for his sacrifice?  As for me, I will be offering the greatest item I own.  Myself!

Isaiah 9:6

“For to us a child is born, t us a child is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”

Inspiration: In honor of the Christ Child, I created this photography that I took at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, NYC.

‘Tis the Season for An Update

Inspired by the Christmas season, I decided to update my page in celebration of the birth of Jesus. The header is an original photograph taken by yours truly at Rockefeller Center in NYC. I hope you like the new layout.

Isaiah 7:14, also provided inspiration for my blog update. “Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign.  Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”
